Peter Frame (born 10 November 1942 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England) is an English people music journalist and historian of rock music.
He has produced outlines of the history of rock bands for various magazines, such as Sounds, NME, Melody Maker and Rolling Stone.[Taylor, Pete (1985) Popular Music Since 1955: A Critical Guide to the Literature, Mansell Publishing, , p. 17] from its beginning until February 1973, and again from March 1976 until July 1977.
Five volumes of his Rock Family Trees have been published; the first two were joined as The Complete Rock Family Trees. He is also author of Rockin' Around Britain.
In October 2007, his 500-page book, The Restless Generation - How rock music changed the face of 1950s Britain, was published by Rogan House.
